Gujarat Grassroots Innovations Augmentation Network

The ambit of GIAN's activity include providing Incubation support to innovations and hand holding support to the innovation based venture. The Incubation support is provided during the initial stage of innovation till product development. The hand holding support is provided to the venture set up by an entrepreneur or the innovator based on the development innovation.

Innovations at the ideas stage may sound abstract to most of us and would require support to reach a more demonstrative stage. During the idea stage, GIAN focuses mainly in providing/generating development finance from relevant institutions, and opportunities to interact with other innovators, to create a critically, appreciative peer group.

Development finance to the tune of Rupees twenty seven lakhs for eight different innovations has been raised. Direct support to innovators have been provided in certain cases by GIAN.

TePP, a program under Ministry of Science and Technology has supported innovations with GIAN by providing prototype development support.

GIAN has strong linkages with various institutions and professionals for technology and design inputs. These include IIT's, NID, Regional Engineering colleges etc.

A final shape is given to the innovation incorporating all the inputs and suggestions received from institutions and experts. Its the final step of GIAN's dream of an innovation turning into product.

An innovative object requires to score high on customer satisfaction. GIAN conducts market research and surveys to ascertain consumer reaction to product features and product performance. These studies also help in defining product positioning and marketing strategy.

Eight innovations have graduated through incubation stage and have already reached to product stage.
